Define field division


With this function, you can define the →field division. The position of every characteristic on the drawing sheet will then be assigned a value. Executing this function again will overwrite the old definition.

Workflow

Step Action Result
1 Invoke function Click on the Define field layout button () in the toolbar. The Define new field layout dialogue window will open at the bottom left of the drawing window:
2 Customize layout Adjust the row and column tags for the fields as required, using letters and numbers (multiple characters permitted), separated by a comma. You must enter the tag exactly as it should appear in the drawing. The field layout for the DIN A3 page format is shown as standard.

Note As the letters and numbers used do not need to be continuous (as a rule, “I” and “O” should not be used), no from-to queries can be executed.
The field layout tags have been defined.
3 Define layout frame Move the cursor to the upper left corner of the field layout frame and left-click. Hold the mouse button and drag a frame to the lower right corner of the field layout frame and release the button:
The field layout frame has been defined.
4 Confirm entries In the Define new field layout dialogue window, click on the Define button to confirm the entries. The field layout has been defined. All existing and new test characteristics will now be allocated to the field key: see: User interface > Function window > Characteristic properties > Properties > Field.


Customization

There are no setting options for directly influencing this function.
