To open the configuration settings window, select the device with a mouse click and then click on **Configure** beneath the list containing the output devices. You can also right-click to open the context menu and select **Configure** from the menu list. {{:en:mdm:configuration-virtual-keyboart-contextmenu_2.png?500|}} {{:en:mdm:configuration-virtual-keyboard1_2.png?500|}} You can activate or deactivate the virtual Keyboard by ticking or clearing the **Enabled** check box. {{:en:mdm:configuration-virtual-keyboard-acknowledg_2.png?500|}} You can set how you want to acknowledge the receipt of a measurement value under **Feedback**. This acknowledgement controls the LEDs on the transmitter. Depending on the setting selected (**green LED**, **red LED**, **red & green LED**), as soon as the virtual Keyboard has processed the measurement value the green, red, or green & red LEDs light up. {{:en:mdm:configuration-virtual-keyboard-format_2.png?500|}} You can change the data output format in **Format options**. As standard, the measurement value and Return (ASCII 13) transmitted. **Extended** can be used to create the format profile you want. {{:en:mdm:configuration-virtual-keyboard-extended_2.png?500|}} The information is collated in the **Format** field. The example above contains the measurement value and a terminator character, Return (ASCII 13). You can also add additional characters. Non-displayable characters are shown as hexadecimals in chevron brackets. In this example represents Return. Additional placeholders are listed in which you can create output text, for instance to move from one cell to the next in an Excel table. You can change the decimal separator in the **Change decimal separator**. Measurement values often use a decimal point. However, in Germany language Excel documents a comma is used as decimal separator. Often measurement data is transmitted with leading zeros and plus signs.
